Sustainable finance at Degroof Petercam

Integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations into your investment decisions

What is

sustainable finance

?
Sustainable finance refers to the process of taking Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) considerations into account when making investment decisions.

More specifically, environmental considerations encompass themes such as climate change mitigation, biodiversity preservation, pollution prevention and the circular economy. Social considerations include issues of inequality, inclusion, labour relations, investment in human capital and communities, as well as human rights issues.
Sustainable finance
The governance of public institutions and the private sector, including management structures, employee relations and executive compensation, play a fundamental role in ensuring that social and environmental considerations are taken into account in the decision-making process.

The Green Deal

Over the past few years, the European Union has set ambitious targets in this area, including the goal of becoming climate-neutral by 2050. To achieve these objectives, an action plan with several regulations aimed at different stakeholders has been set up to redirect capital flows towards investments that deliver sustainable growth.
The goal:
  • More transparency,
  • Clearer information on sustainability
  • Greater harmonization and comparability

In concrete terms, what are we doing at Degroof Petercam?

For this reason, Degroof Petercam has put in place policies to take ESG and sustainability issues increasingly into account in its investment decisions and internal organisation.
